One of my webcomics had a banner up for this, and seeing as how I can't join in the protest myself, I can at least let people know about it?

Nation-wide protest against Prop 8 this Saturday

Is there a certain irony in getting political advocacy news from a comic called I Was Kidnapped by Lesbian Pirates From Outer Space?

*blather* Goodness, I love her other comic, and I was reading Lesbian Pirates, but I stopped reading for a bit because I forgot, and now I can't be arsed to catch up.

There's already been massive protests against Prop 8 here in NYC, and they even made the news (and by that I mean longer than a 2-second blip, and actually asked protesters their opinion). Maybe there's some hope for humanity yet! They protested outside a Mormon church (or Latter Day Saints, they kind of blur for me), pointing out the hypocrisy in a polygamist religion pouring money into "defending traditional marriage." One of the protesters even said that he'd been a Mormon for 36 years of his life, a wife and four children, and then he'd come out and he'd been basically evicted from his own family.

Oh man don't let me comment this early in the morning anymooore /blatherblather

Her other comic is lovely. I was just recently introduced to both, so I had a fun time reading through each in one sitting.

Awesome, good for NYC! I know that it was primarily the Mormon vote here in Canada that tried to prevent gay marriage rights, but they were fortunately outnumbered (and some of my Mormon friends have since become much more liberal once they moved out of their parents' homes).

When that whole drama was going down here in Canada, though, at one point I stood up in front of my rhetoric class and gave a speech on why gay marriage is not Biblically unacceptable. Good times.
